This page will allow you to learn a little more about Windsor Baptist Church, what we believe, who we support and how we got started.
A concise statement of faith regarding important issues.

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is divinely inspired, so that it is perfect in the original manuscripts and has been preserved by God so that it is the authoritative standard for all ages and all people.
(Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe in one God that eternally exists in three persons - Father, Son, Holy Spirit – each of whom demands and is worthy of our praise, adoration, obedience and worship.
(Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19)
We believe God the Father is the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present Sovereign God whose divine purpose is accomplished in all things. Because of His love, He sent His Only Son Jesus to accomplish redemption for His chosen people – pouring out His wrath on the Son, while on the cross, in order to accomplish mercy for us.
(Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-25, Ephesians 1:3-6)
We believe that Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, taught the truths of godliness and performed miracles – exactly as described in the four Gospels.
We believe that He was crucified, shedding His blood to pay the penalty for our sins and was raised bodily from the dead on the third day. He has now ascended to the Father’s right hand where He acts as our Mediator and High Priest, interceding for His people.
(John 1:1-5, 10-14; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Comforter promised by Jesus. He convicts of sin and regenerates all God’s chosen people – indwelling them, giving them eternal security and conforming them to the image of Christ Jesus.
(John 3:5; Ephesians 1:13)
We believe God is the absolute and sole Creator of the universe and that He created all things from nothing in literal six days, resting on the seventh day.
(Genesis 1:1; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16)
We believe that man was created perfect, but that in Adam’s willful sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became spiritually dead and alienated from God. We believe that all men are morally corrupt and totally depraved. Man is both unwilling and unable to satisfy God’s holy requirements unless God moves in him – giving him life and faith.
(John 6:44; Romans 3:10-19, 23; Ephesians 2:1-3)
We believe that salvation is purely a gift of God – of which man has nothing to boast. Salvation is only found through faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for sin. We believe that man is justified by grace through faith apart from works and that all true believers are kept secure in Christ forever.
(Romans 4:5, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)
We believe that the local assembly is the true and only church and it is both free and independent with Christ as its Lord and head. The church is given the command to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people in all places. This church was established during the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ and, according to His promise, has had a continual existence throughout all ages.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23, 3:21)
We believe two ordinances – baptism and the Lord’s Supper – were given to the church and are only properly observed through the church’s authority.
We believe baptism may only be observed through immersion – a picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and also of the believer’s death to sin and resurrection to walk in newness of life. Baptism is reserved for believers in Christ and conducted through the authority of the church. It is not a saving ordinance, but is the answer of a good conscience toward God.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Peter 3:21)
We believe the Lord’s Supper is similarly reserved from members of the local New Testament church using the elements of unleavened bread and wine. It is a memorial supper that pictures the sacrifice of Jesus Christ – His broken body and spilled blood.
(1 Corinthians 11:26, 5:11)
We believe that Christians should be holy and separate, not walking after the flesh. Christians should have the goal of being conformed to the image of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Complete realization of that goal will not be fully accomplished until Christ’s Second Coming to earth.
(Ephesians 4:22-24; Romans 8:29; 1 John 3:2)
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ according to His promise in the Scriptures. When He returns, all eyes will see Him and He will come in judgment of both the living and the dead.
(John 14:1-3; 2 Timothy 4:1; Revelation 1:7)

The mission of Illinois Baptist College is to prepare Christians biblically, academically, practically and spiritually for a place of ministry that God has prepared for them.
The college, located in Washington, Illinois has been doing this for over 40 years. Illinois Baptist College began classes in 1964 under the name of Illinois Missionary Baptist Institute. In 1968, the college completed the building that houses the college. Beverly Manor Baptist Church is the sponsoring church for the college. Mike McCoskey is the pastor of Beverly Manor Baptist Church and the college’s president.
During the 1990s, the name was changed to Illinois Baptist College to identify correctly the mission and purpose of the school. A new academic curriculum was designed, while the library added many new books, a computer catalog system, and an electronic Bible reference library.
The advantages of a Bible college education are reflected in the balanced attention given to Biblical, General, and Professional studies.
Individuals seeking to learn and prepare for a ministry in God’s Word are encouraged to prayerfully consider Illinois Baptist College.

Brother Alejandro Castro, a native of Peru, is a missionary to the Spanish speaking people in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. His work is called Abundant Life Baptist Spanish Mission.
His own testimony includes: “I got saved when I was 7 years of age. I realize that I was lost and that without Christ, my life is no hope and purpose. Praised the Lord for his mercy and Salvation to my life. The Lord called me to the ministry when I was 17 years of age. I had a burden for the people, because I want to tell to the people about Christ and that He is all Migthy to Save. That through his blood we can obtain eternal redemption.”
Brother Castro is sponsored by Winton Place Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Windsor Baptist Church voted to support him beginning in September, 2009.

A very brief review of the history of Windsor Baptist Church.

Windsor Baptist Church was first constituted as a Southern Baptist Church with 24 charter members on August 24, 1959.
Between August 1959 and August 1969, the church had four pastors: Wilfred Davis (August 1959 – December 1961), Ray Helpingstine (February 1962 – January 1963), H.W. Wallace (August 1963 – October 1966) and Mike Jackson (January 1967 – August 1969).
Wayne Gregory was called to be the church’s pastor in August 1969 and the church continued to grow in grace and knowledge. At a special business meeting in November 1969, Windsor Baptist Church unanimously voted to leave the Southern Baptist Convention in order to become an independent Baptist church. The church’s desire was to be under the sole authority of Jesus Christ, “the head over all things to the church,” (Ephesians 1:22) in order “that in all things He might have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).
The church was scripturally reorganized under the authority of The Fall Creek Baptist Church, Noblesville, Indiana on October 30, 1971. Members were baptized by Fall Creek’s pastor, Richard E. Farnham, in Lake Mattoon. After the baptismal service, members of Windsor Baptist Church held a special business meeting designating Wayne Gregory to be pastor and also electing trustee and incorporating a church constitution and articles of faith.
The church purchased Lots 5&6 of block 46 from Mr. Storm in the town of Windsor in August 1970 and, one month later, unanimously voted to construct a new church building on the newly acquired property.
Plans for the church’s current two-story parsonage were developed in May 1975 with the church voting to build the home and construction beginning immediately. The parsonage has been maintained and remodeled through the years and remains in use to this day as the home for the pastor and his family.
Windsor Baptist Church called Nick Wools as pastor in March 1979. The assembly continued to grow in grace and knowledge, holding regular revival and fellowship meetings and ministering to the community. Pastor Wools retired in August 2005 and remained as a member of the church.
Jason Shults was called by unanimous vote in September 2007, moving into the newly renovated parsonage with his family in January 2008.
